Speed Monitor Trailer

Speed related motor vehicle complaints are one of the most frequent types of complaints the Police Department receives. To combat these complaints the Greenland Police Department conducts saturation patrols funded by grants to put extra officers out in the field, dedicated to motor vehicle violation enforcement. Unfortunately the grant only supplies funding for a very limited number of hours. In order to address this issue from another avenue we looked at purchasing a Speed Monitor Trailer.

At the March 2007 Town Meeting the Residents of Greenland approved a warrant article to purchase a Speed Monitor Trailer. The cost for the trailer was $8000.00, half of which was obtained through a New Hampshire Highway Safety Grant. The trailer was ordered and has just been delivered. We look forward to using this new equipment to address citizen complaints for speeding vehicles, in a way that will provide an economical solution.
